DUCT TYPE AIR CONDITIONER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A duct type air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to measure the operational electric current of a blowing fan in a test run using an electric current sensor, thereby discharging air at a predetermined air volume with comparing the measured operational electric current with a referential operational electric current corresponding to the predetermined air volume and revolutions per minute (RPM) in the test run. CONSTITUTION: A duct type air conditioner includes a blowing fan (130), an electric current sensor (140), a memory, and a control part. The sensor measures an operational electric current of the fan. The memory stores data for the revolutions per minute (RPM) of the fan corresponding to the air volume of the air conditioner by external static pressure at ducts (210,230) and data for the referential operational electric current the sensor corresponding to the data for the RPM of the fan. The control part test-runs the fan at certain RPM in order to compare the operational electric current with the referential operational electric current corresponding to a predetermined air volume input by a user and the RPM, and then controls the RPM of the fan in order to discharge air at the predetermined air volume.
