<p>PURPOSE: A communication device, a control method thereof, and a recording medium are provided to reduce a possibility of ending communication at a useless timing. CONSTITUTION: An opening and closing detection unit (112) detects opening and closing of a cover (111). A control unit determines the opening and closing of the cover by detecting an ON/OFF state of the opening and closing detection unit. The opening and closing detection unit is turned on when the cover is opened. The control unit determines that a recoding medium (110) is in an attachable state when the opening and closing detection unit is turned on.
