A liquid crystal display device and a backlight driving method of the liquid crystal display device are provided to remove the wave noise phenomenon generated on a liquid crystal panel by alternately driving the ON/OFF operation of a backlight unit. An LED(Light Emitting Diode) array part(80) comprises a plurality of LED arrays in which a plurality of LEDs emitting the white light are mounted. An LED driving part(90) outputs a plurality of PWM signals in order to operate the LED arrays. A liquid crystal panel(50) receives the light emitted from the LED arrays and displays an image. A gate driving part(60) outputs a scan signal to a gate line in order to control the switching operation of a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) formed in the liquid crystal panel. A source driver(70) outputs video data to a data line by being synchronized with the scan signal. |
