PURPOSE: A coating composition for leather is provided to be cost effective by replacing an expensive coating composition with an inexpensive coating composition. CONSTITUTION: A coating composition for leather with brush stability, volatility and stability in dilution comprises 80-90 parts by weight % of nitrocellulose dope composition and 10-20 parts by weight % of polyurethane resin. The nitrocellulose dope composition is mixed with 25-45 parts by weight of alkyd resin, 4-8 parts by weight of nitro cellulose, 4-10 parts by weight of butylpropionate and 10-30 parts by weight of ketone. The polyurethane resin is polymerized by diisocyanate, 1,4- butanediol or ethylene glycol which is chosen from a group made of ether type polyol, N-methylpyrolidone (NMP) solvent, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, toluene diisocyanate and hexamethylene diisocyanate. The nitrocellulose dope composition comprises 70 parts by weight of ethyl acetate for 100 parts by weight of nitrocellulose dope composition. |
