摘要 A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to suppress an afterimage after turning off the LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device by quickly discharging a data voltage from a storage capacitor. An LCD panel(113) includes plural data lines, plural gate lines, and plural TFTs(Thin Film Transistors). A data driving circuit(111) supplies a data voltage to the data lines. A gate driving circuit(112) supplies a scan pulse which is varied between high and low gate voltages, to the gate lines. A power-off controller(128) supplies one of first and second voltages as the low gate voltage to the gate driving circuit. The first voltage turns off the TFT, while the second voltage turns on the TFT. The power-off controller receives an on-signal from an on/off switch, selects the first voltage as the low gate voltage, and supplies the low gate voltage to the gate driving circuit. The power-off controller receives an off signal from the on/off switch, selects the second voltage as the low gate voltage, and supplies the low gate voltage to the gate driving circuit.
