THE DISPLACEMENT SENSING AND SPRAY WATER DEVICE OF RAILWAY RAIL AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A device and a method for sensing the displacement of a railway expansion joint and sprinkling water are provided to precisely sense the displacement and to secure the safety operation of a railway vehicle by sensing the displacement in a longitudinal direction of the railway expansion joint even though a direct displacement sensing member is malfunctioned. CONSTITUTION: A device for sensing the displacement of a railway expansion joint (10) and sprinkling water comprises a sensor unit (100), a water-sprinkling unit (300), and a central server (200). The sensor unit includes an expansion joint displacement sensor (110) sensing the displacement in a longitudinal direction of the railway expansion joint and an expansion joint temperature sensor (120) measuring the temperature of the expansion joint or an external temperature sensor (130) measuring ambient temperature around the expansion joint. The water-sprinkling unit is arranged near to the expansion joint and sprinkles water to the expansion joint. The central server sets a condition of transmitting expansion joint information data measured by the sensor unit. When the transmission condition is satisfied, the central server receives the expansion joint information data and determines whether the displacement of the expansion joint exceeds a limit or not. If the displacement exceeds the limit, the central server controls the water-sprinkling unit to make the water-sprinkling unit immediately sprinkle water so that the displacement of the expansion joint is recovered within the limit.
