PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transporting substrate media are provided to stabilize motion quality and to transport the media from a transporting unit at a marking zone to a transporting unit at a lower side. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for transporting substrate media includes a first media transporting part, a second media transporting part, a first force converter (70), and a control unit. The first media transporting part has a first transporting surface and a first driving unit, and transports the media (15). The second media transporting part has a second transporting surface and a second driving unit, houses the media from the first media transporting part, and transports the media. The first force converter measures a first relative force between the first and the second media transporting part, and outputs a first force signal corresponding to the first relative force. The control unit receives the first force signal, and outputs a control signal dependent on comparison between the certain value of at least one of the driving units and the first force signal.
