PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixed valence copper compound-loaded tungsten oxide, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A mixed valence copper compound-loaded tungsten oxide is composed of tungsten oxide that supports mixed valence copper iodide of monovalence and divalence. A method for producing the mixed valence copper compound-loaded tungsten oxide includes a step wherein tungsten oxide is suspended in a solution, in which copper ions are dissolved, and iodine ions are added thereto.
