PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxial oriented film for electric insulation that has superior withstand voltage characteristics and heat resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided the biaxial oriented film for electric insulation that includes polyethylene naphthalene decarboxylate, polyarylate, and an oxidation inhibitor, the content of the polyethylene naphthalene decarboxylate being 50-90 wt.% and the content of the polyarylate being 5-49.9 wt.% on the basis of the weight of the film.
