The invention relates to a closure apparatus (2) for closing and sealing off a gas or oil well provided with a defective blowout preventer (4). To this end, according to the invention the closure apparatus (2) has a main body (8), in which a closure bell (12) is formed for enveloping the connection piece (6) of the blowout preventer (4) which protrudes out of the gas or oil well, and also a central bore (10), in which a closure element (16) which can be lowered into the connection piece (6) is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner. |
