PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which enables an amount of light of a light source to be brought close to a target amount of light in a short time after turning-on of the light source when executing an APC in an optical scanner.SOLUTION: An inventive optical scanner charges a hold capacitor holding a voltage corresponding to a driving current for outputting a light beam from a representative laser (LD1) for a time T1. After the elapse of the time T1, the optical scanner controls the voltage of the hold capacitor corresponding to the LD1 by using a charged voltage as an initial value. Thereby, an amount of light detected by a PD is controlled to be close to a target amount of light. Moreover, the optical scanner determines a time Tset for charging the voltage of each of hold capacitors corresponding to other lasers (LD2 to LDn) to the same voltage as a voltage after voltage control of the hold capacitor corresponding to the LD1, and charges the hold capacitors corresponding to the LD2 to LDn. |
