PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die casting machine that can successfully detect a casting material when vacuuming a casting die while injecting the material thereinto.SOLUTION: The die casting machine 2 with a casting die includes: a fixed casting die 101 and a movable casting die 103 for defining a die inner space 107 including a cavity 105; a vacuum tank 21 communicating with the cavity 105; a valve 29 for opening and closing a communication path 28 between the cavity 105 and the vacuum tank 21; a sensor element 35 disposed outside the die inner space 107, and for repeatedly transmitting ultrasonic waves toward the die inner space 107, and receiving the reflected supersonic waves (echo Wr); and a control device 7 for determining, based on the echo Wr received by the sensor element 35 when the casting material (molten metal) is being injected into the cavity 105 with the valve 29 being opened, whether the molten metal has reached a predetermined detection position 103aa in the die inner space 107 (Step S8), and closing the valve 29 when determined that the molten metal has reached (Step S9). |
