PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variations in an optical film feed rate and reduce variations in length of optical film sheets obtained after cutting.SOLUTION: An optical film cutting method includes: a primary feed step of feeding an optical film F at a primary feed rate at which it is assumed that the front-end position of the optical film reaches a primary feed reaching point 37b away from a front-end stop position 37a by a certain distance G; a front-end position detection step of detecting the front-end position of the optical film F fed in the primary feed step by imaging the front-end position with imaging means; a secondary feed rate calculation step of calculating a secondary feed rate necessary for the front-end position of the optical film F to reach the front-end stop position 37a by comparing the detected front-end position of the optical film F with the front-end stop position 37a; a secondary feed step of secondarily feeding the optical film F at the secondary feed rate calculated in the secondary feed rate calculation step; and a cutting step of cutting the optical film F with a cutting part disposed on the upstream side in a feed direction of the optical film with respect to the front-end stop position 37a.
