Provided is a manufacturing method of an abrasive agent which contains a dispersant and which has, as the abrasive material component, cerium oxide as the main component. This abrasive agent manufacturing method is characterized by involving: a step in which a used abrasive material slurry is salted out using first group element or second group element positive ions which have an 80-160pm ionic radius in six-coordinate conversion, and the abrasive material component is recovered by solid-liquid separation by allowing coagulation and sedimentation of the cerium oxide; and a step in which a dispersant having anionic polymers is added to the abrasive material component after recovery. |
