Provided is a molded component for slide fasteners, which has a good balance between mechanical strength and platability. This molded component for slide fasteners is formed from a resin composition that contains 30-50% by mass of a polyamide and 50-70% by mass of a reinforcing fiber, with the total of the polyamide and the reinforcing fiber being substantially 100% by mass. The resin composition is characterized in that the polyamide has a weight average molecular weight of 30,000-80,000 and 50% by mass or more of the polyamide is composed of an aliphatic polyamide.
