PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction machine having a failure diagnosing function to automatically and quickly discriminate that failures occur in electrical components including a capacitor and where they occur, during the operation of the machine, resulting in improved maintainability such as repair and component replacement.SOLUTION: The construction machine comprises: an electric motor; a capacitor as a power storage device; an inverter and a DC voltage transducer provided between the electric motor and the capacitor; and a relay provided between the DC voltage transducer and the capacitor, whereby electric power can be transferred between the electric motor and the capacitor. The construction machine further includes a voltage sensor provided on the relay side of the DC voltage transducer for detecting the primary side voltage of the DC voltage transducer, and failure determining means provided for computing the change rate of a voltage detected by the voltage sensor after connecting the DC voltage transducer via the relay to the capacitor, to determine failures of electrical components including the DC voltage transducer and the capacitor. |
