摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device for an electric vehicle having: an electric motor; a planetary gear speed reducer including an input shaft that is driven by the electric motor; and a hub unit rotated by an output shaft integral with a carrier of the speed reducer capable of eliminating an influence to a pinion pin and the input shaft even if receiving a revolution load and an impact load from a wheel side and obtaining high rotational accuracy by enhancing the support rigidity of the output shaft of the speed reducer.SOLUTION: The carrier 32 of the planetary gear speed reducer 12 includes an outboard-side carrier flange 32a and an inboard-side carrier flange 32b that are connected to both ends of the pinion pin 31 of the speed reducer 12. A support bearing 44 intervenes as an auxiliary bearing between a boss 37 of the outboard-side carrier flange 32a and an outboard-side housing flange 18a, so that the output shaft 14 is supported at two positions of a hub bearing 46 and the support bearing 44.
