The present invention provides a method, apparatus and system for orthogonal frequency division multiple access and a network side device and user equipment of the system for orthogonal frequency division multiple access. The method comprises: when the number of the idle uplink service frequency point is greater than or equal to the number of the frequency point needed by bearing uplink orthogonal sequence, at least one idle continuous frequency band which is used to generate time frequency block for uplink access of the user equipment is obtained. The number of the idle frequency point contained by the continuous frequency band is greater than or equal to the number of the frequency point needed by bearing uplink orthogonal sequence. A first uplink access indication message which is used to indicate the user equipment to use the time frequency block as the uplink access resource is transmitted to the user equipment. The technical scheme of this invention can effectively reduce the collision probability of the uplink access.
