A heat exchanger assembly (103) installed in an outdoor unit (101) is provided with stacked fins having cutouts formed therein, the cutouts comprising no fin collars or comprising cutouts having fin collars having a length less than the width of the gaps between the stacked fins. As a result of this configuration, at least some of the gaps between stacked fins (2) which form opposing faces are greater than the gaps between stacked fins (2) which form faces other than the opposing faces.
