PAPER FEEDER AND SHEET FOLDING DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder that can correct skew of a sheet reliably and does not cause folding of a leading end.SOLUTION: A rear end side guide member (fixed guide) and a front end side guide member (movable guide) 61 are disposed in this order upstream of a gate stopper 43 for catching a leading end of the sheet. The front end side guide member is configured so as to be displaceable between a first angle attitude in which it guides the leading end of the sheet to a stopper surface and a second angle attitude (Fig.7) in which it is opposed to the rear end side guide member 60 with a gap. The gate stopper is connected to a shift means 66 in such a manner as to be movable between an operation position where it engages with the leading end of the sheet (Fig.4) and a standby position (Fig.7). The front end side guide member is displaced from the first angle attitude to the second angle attitude in conjunction with the operation of the gate stopper that moves from a spaced position (Fig.6) in which it is spaced from the leading end of the sheet to the standby position.
