PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily process a metal surface to be a specular surface.SOLUTION: This mirror finishing method machines a metal XA1 using a mirror finishing machine 10. Specifically, the mirror finishing method mirror-finishes the surface of the metal XA1 by ultrasonically vibrating a mirror finishing tool 11 so that, when striking the metal XA1 which has minute valleys V which are recesses and minute mountains M which are protrusions with a head 11a of the mirror finishing tool 11 for ultrasonically vibrating, the bottom dead center of the head 11a is not as low as the lowest point of the valleys V and the mountains M which are struck with the head 11a are plastically deformed toward the valleys V. |
