The invention relates to compounds of the general formula I (Ba1-a-bSraEub)2+x(Lu1-c-dYcGdd)2-x(PO4)2+x(SiO4)1-x(I) where b stands for a value from the range 0<b@0.2 a, c, d stand, independently of one another, for a value from the range from 0 to 1 x stands for a value from the range from 0 to 0.8, and to a process for the preparation of these phosphors and to the use thereof as conversion phosphors or in lamps.
