<p>Processes for oxidizing an alkyl-aromatic compound are described. The processes include contacting an alkyl-aromatic compound, a solvent, a bromine source, a catalyst, and an oxidizing agent to produce a product comprising at least one of an aromatic alcohol, an aromatic aldehyde, an aromatic ketone, and an aromatic carboxylic acid. The composition of the solvent is controlled to reduce the impurities in the product.</p> |
