This filter assembly for a cigarette has: mouthpiece side and tobacco rod side filter plugs with a hollow part disposed therebetween that are separated from each other and not wrapped in wrapping paper; a capsule provided in the hollow part between the mouthpiece side and tobacco rod side filter plugs that holds a content fluid that includes a first smoke modifying agent within a membrane; and liquid impermeable forming paper that is wound around the mouthpiece side and tobacco rod side filter plugs and the capsule. The filter assembly for a cigarette is characterized by the filter plug on the mouthpiece side including one or a plurality of conductors for the smoke modifying agent and the forming paper being made to directly adhere to the mouthpiece side and tobacco rod side filter plugs by an adhesive.
