PURPOSE: A resource allocation method of a base station in a wireless communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to reduce the operation quantity which is necessary for the calculation of the resource allocation priority, if the apparatus has a plurality of resource type in a wireless packet data communication system. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication unit (210) transmits and receives a signal with a terminal. A modem (231) receives the resource area channel quality identifier information, which is transmitted from the terminal, through the wireless communication unit and demodulates the information. A resource allocation scheduler (233) uses the channel quality identifier information and decides the representative channel quality identifier for each terminal. The resource allocation scheduler uses the representative channel quality identifier to decide the resource allocation priority. The resource allocation scheduler allocates the resource according to the decided priority.
