PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purified gene encoding cytokine from a mammal, a reagent related thereto including a purified protein and a specific antibody, and a nucleic acid encoding the molecule.SOLUTION: There are provided the purified gene encoding cytokine from a mammal, the reagent related to the gene and including the purified protein and the specific antibody, and the nucleic acid encoding the molecule. There are also provided a method for using the reagent and a diagnostic kit. The invention specifically relates to a composition containing a combination of interleukin B30 (IL-B30) and IL-12p40 subunit, and its biological activity, including nucleic acids encoding both a polypeptide and a fusion protein, and the method for producing and using the same.
