PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable/contractible protective device which does not separates the front end side of a protective board from a sheet member by an expanding/contracting action and prevents the generation of a slide contact sound.SOLUTION: The expandable/contractible protective device includes a protective board 3b covering the front face of a sheet member 2 having crests 2a and troughs 2b formed alternately, and a plurality of slats 3 each of which has a mounting board 3a formed at the base end of the protective board 3b and which are fixed at equal intervals in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the length of the crests 2a and troughs 2b formed on the sheet member 2, and slat fixing boards 4 each of which is fixed to the back of the sheet member 2 and holds part of the sheet member 2 together with the mounting board 3a constituting each slat 3. At both end sides of each slat 3, rotation regulating members 5 are fixed, respectively, which are extended from their fixed positions toward the front end of each protective board portion 3b. Between each rotation regulating member 5 and each slat 3, an insertion space is formed in which guide boards 21 and 22 are inserted. |
