The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polycarbonate resin having excellent heat resistance, boiling water resistance, surface hardness and low water absorption. The present invention is a polycarbonate resin in which the main repeating unit contains a unit (A) represented by the formula and a unit (B) represented by the formula. (In the formula, X denotes an alkylene group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms or a cycloalkylene group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, R denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and m is an integer between 1 and 10.) The molar ratio of unit (A) to unit (B) (A/B) is between 30/70 and 99/1. |
