Disclosed is a two-stroke internal combustion engine system with separately controllable intake and exhaust, comprising an air intake compensating pump (38), a turbocharger (33), and a cooler (36), etc. When the internal combustion engine starts up, an air current is provided by means of the compensating pump (38) and after the rotational speed reaches a stabilized state for the turbocharger (33), the air current is provided by the turbocharger (33). This internal combustion engine supercharges the two-stroke internal combustion engine, increases the eco-friendliness and reliability, and reduces manufacturing costs. Disclosed is an internal combustion engine system with separately controllable intake and exhaust and switchable between two-stroke and four-stroke, comprising a turbocharger (33), a cooler (36), an exhaust valve (14), a two-stroke air intake valve (20), and a fuel injection nozzle (18), etc. When the internal combustion engine starts up, the four-stroke operating mode is used and when high power operation is required, the four-stroke mode is switched to a two-stroke mode. After being supercharged by the turbocharger (33), exhaust gas passes through the cooler (36) and is delivered to a two-stroke air intake valve (20), continuing on as a gas stream for a cylinder. The internal combustion engine system overcomes the drawbacks of low combustion efficiency, major polluting emissions, and machine oil being involved in the combustion, etc. in a two-stroke internal combustion engine, and achieves the function of freely switching between a two-stroke and a four-stroke mode within a single internal combustion engine, increasing the maximum power of conventional four-stroke internal combustion engines.
