PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for machining a cylinder liner of an air compressor, configured to prevent bore deformation generated when a head is fastened to the cylinder liner.SOLUTION: The method for machining an inner circumferential surface of a cylinder liner 2 of a reciprocating air compressor using a bore machining tool 8 includes: fastening a dummy head 7 to the cylinder liner 2 to simulate bore deformation to be formed when a normal head is fastened; and while simulating bore deformation, machining the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder liner 2 with the bore machining tool 8.
