The present invention relates to a light guide plate and to a backlight unit including same. Particularly, in the light guide plate, a prism pattern is disposed on the top surface of the light guide plate, and the vertex of the upper end of a vertical section of the prism has an arc shape. Also, the bottom side of the vertical section has a length of about 50 µm to about 100 µm, and the arc has a fan-shaped central angle of about 2° to about 95°. In addition, a base angle (A) in the vertical section ranges from about 30° to about 50°. Thus, the light guide plate has superior straightness and high brightness of emitted light.
