PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of suppressing return light to an input port.SOLUTION: An optical waveguide type device 1 includes: an input port 2; a multimode optical waveguide 5 which has an input side surface 3 having the input port 2 connected thereto and an output side surface 4 facing the input side surface 3; an output port 6 connected to the output side surface 4; and an absorption layer 7 provided in the vicinity of the output side surface 4 of the multimode optical waveguide 5. The output side surface 4 of the multimode optical waveguide 5 includes surfaces 4a and 4b which are inclined convexly from the end side toward the center side of the output side surface 4 with respect to a direction 5b perpendicular to an optical axis of the multimode optical waveguide 5. |
