Provided is a water supply device capable of meeting energy conservation requirements by avoiding time slots wherein a large amount of water is used and by, for example, controlling the rotational velocity of a pump (1) so as to lower the rotational velocity during time slots wherein not much water is used. This water supply device is equipped with: the pump (1), which pressurizes and pumps water; a frequency converter that supplies power to the pump (1) and operates the pump (1) at various speeds; and a control unit (15) that sends operation signals to the frequency converter so as to operate the pump (1) in a first operational mode, or in a second operational mode wherein less power is consumed than in the first operational mode. The control unit (15) determines whether to switch the operation of the pump (1) from the first operational mode to the second operational mode on the basis of the operating condition of the pump (1).
