TREAD FOR PNEUMATIC TIRE

Provided is a tread for a pneumatic tire, that is capable of reducing air-column resonance, maintaining water discharge performance, and causing flexible fences to abrade at the same rate as the tread section. This pneumatic tire tread (1) is a tread formed using a rubber composition, and has a tread section (2) having a main groove (3) formed therein, and a plurality of flexible fences (4) formed inside the main groove. The flexible fences are formed using at least a rubber composition for fences that differs from the rubber composition in the tread section. The rubber composition for fences includes a filler composition having as the base thereof: a diene elastomer (a); at least 30 phr of a non-black reinforcing filler (b); less than 3 phr of carbon black as an optional component; and an organic photooxidation catalyst (c).
