PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery improved in capacity retention rate.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided by the present invention includes a positive electrode active material layer and a negative electrode active material layer. In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the negative electrode active material layer includes a negative electrode active material coated with amorphous carbon, the negative electrode active material layer has a facing part facing the positive electrode active material layer and a non-facing part not facing the positive electrode active material layer, and a coated amount B (mass%) of the amorphous carbon in the negative electrode active material present in the non-facing part is smaller than a coated amount A (mass%) of the amorphous carbon in the negative electrode active material present in the facing part. |
