PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a wavelength variable type WDM/TDM-PON which reduces a cost required for a subscriber device, and uses the branch of cyclic AWG.SOLUTION: The optical communication system applies an optical transmitter 11 having such spectral characteristics that an output wavelength of a subscriber device 10 is sufficiently wide, a desired wavelength is extracted by a wavelength filter 30, and at least one of optical receivers 24 in a station side device selects a reception wavelength having arrived at a predetermined timing and thereby performs up-link transmission and reception, and communication is enabled even when the subscriber device 10 has no wavelength variable transmitter. |
