PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an authentication device capable of securing advanced security and quickly solving an authentication disabled state due to forgetfulness of the content of registered operation.SOLUTION: An operation panel 200 is used for inputting authentication information. An authentication unit 402 determines whether the authentication information input from the operation panel 200 satisfies preregistered authentication conditions. Data is input into an external interface 307 from an external device 411 that is provided independently from an image processing device 100. A reception unit 403 receives an urgent authentication start instruction from the external device 411 through the external interface 307. An urgent authentication control unit 404 instructs the authentication unit 402 to perform authentication using a special authentication condition associated with the urgent authentication start instruction during a special time period specified in advance in response to the urgent authentication start instruction received by the reception unit 403.
