The device has a label transfer unit (18) that is guided rotationally for winding a label (E) around a container (B) through an adhesive. Several dispensing devices (3) are arranged in pre-insertion direction of the container at the upstream of the label transfer unit for dispensing prefabricated adhesive strips (25) of solid consistency. The adhesive-handed label passed by label transfer unit is accommodated in the adhesive strip for fixing with containers. The glue is filled between self adhesive top surfaces of adhesive strip which is covered by silicon carrier. An independent claim is included for method for wrap-around labeling of container.
