HORIZONTAL SHEAR CONNECTOR FOR PRECAST CONCRETE BRIDGE PIER

PURPOSE: A horizontal shear joint for a precast concrete pier is provided to improve adhesion and constructionability by laterally shear-joining the foundation and coping units of a precast concrete pier. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal shear joint for a precast concrete pier comprises a first circular pipe formed with a first re-bar and a second circular pipe formed with a second re-bar. The first and second circular pipes with different diameters are interlocked with each other. The first and second re-bars are welded to the first and second circular pipes by being protruded with shear resistance. A horizontal shear joint is positioned in between a level adjustment foundation unit and foundation unit sheath pipes (170a,170b).
