PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a variation in toner density caused by correcting a toner density target value.SOLUTION: A control unit 21 of an image forming apparatus 2 first calculates the average value of image density of images that have already been output in determining necessity of correction of a toner density target value. The control unit 21 then calculates the average value of image density of images that are to be output. The control unit 21 then obtains a difference between the calculated two average values, and determines whether or not the difference is larger than a predetermined threshold. If the difference is larger than the threshold, the control unit 21 does not perform correction of the toner density target value, and perform correction of a gradation correction table. If the difference is equal to or less than the threshold, the control unit 21 performs correction of the toner density target value. |
