This technology is related to an information processing device and method, wherein a new form of communication tool is made feasible. LEDs emit light according to a light-emitting pattern that is specified by a combination of light-emitting parameters that indicate light-emitting features. A behavior control unit of an information processing device controls the light-emitting pattern of the LEDs on the basis of: the relationship between the information processing device and a group to which the information processing device and one or more other information processing devices having LEDs belong; or the relationship between the information processing device and the other information processing devices belonging to the group. This technology can be applied to an information processing device to be used as a communication tool. |
