Disclosed are a cable shaft fire fighting device and a method thereof. A vertical fire fighting pipe and a lower exhaust device are mounted in the shaft. A fire fighting valve is provided with fire fighting spray heads distributed in layers. An isolation smoke control baffle is arranged between cables. A fire fighting device controlled by a bimetallic strip is mounted at the lower part of a hoistway door. In the case of fire, physical isolation between the cables and air can be realized. The cable shaft fire fighting device can be widely applied to the fire protection of the cable shaft and can increase the safety index of the cable shaft. The product realized by the technology can be produced in an industrial, standard, general and serial manner, and the technology belongs to the fields of building fire protection and electric fire protection.
