PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater in which a concentration of a scale inhibitor is maintained at a constant with respect to a water inflow temperature to reduce the frequency of maintenance and maintenance costs.SOLUTION: The water heater includes: a hot-water storage tank for storing hot water; a hot-water-supply heat exchanger for heat-exchanging a high-temperature refrigerant made by a heating means and water in a lower part of the hot-water storage tank; an water inflow pipeline for connecting the hot-water-supply heat exchanger and a lower part of the hot-water storage tank; and a hot-water outflow pipeline for connecting the hot-water-supply heat exchanger and an upper part of the hot-water storage tank. A scale inhibiting means for adding the scale inhibitor which inhibits generation of a scale is provided in parallel with the water inflow pipeline, and the scale inhibitor is effectively used. As a result, the scale inhibitor is given a longer life and the maintenance of replacing and replenishing the scale inhibitor and the maintenance cost can be reduced. |
