PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader large in depth of field and small in size.SOLUTION: The image reader comprises a light source 2, an image forming optical system 1, an imaging element 41, a memory 5, and a processor 6. The image forming optical system 1 comprises plural cells 11 as individually independent optical systems arranged in a main scanning direction 211, the cells being arrayed in two lines in a sub scanning direction 212. Each cell comprises a first reflection type condensing optical element 100, a first plane mirror 105, an aperture 101, and a second reflection type condensing optical element 102 which are arranged in order from a document 7, the aperture 101 being disposed at the rear-side focus position of the first reflection type condensing optical element 100 to form a telecentric optical system on the document side. |
