The robot controller 14 is configured to control the operation of the robot 11 so that the load 4 lifted by the suction pads 25 passes through the area of the optical path 62 and to detect the dimension in the height direction of the load 4, passing through the area of the optical path 62 based on the presence or absence of light reception in the light receiving part 60b.
