PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a change in state of a sheet in a fixing process to suppress curl and waving of the sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a fixing device 1 that applies heat and pressure to a sheet on which a toner image is transferred to fix the toner image on the sheet. The image forming apparatus is further provided with a water adding device 105a that is disposed on the upstream side in a sheet conveyance direction of the fixing device 1, and adds water to a surface on the opposite side of a surface of the sheet on which the toner image is transferred. |
