METHOD FOR INACTIVATING PATHOGENIC MICROORGANISM

Provided is a method for inactivating a pathogenic microorganism even in the presence of an organic substance in a simple manner and with high reliability while reducing the burdens on the environment. An aqueous medium containing a pathogenic microorganism and an organic substance is treated by adding an active oxygen donor, chlorine dioxide and an active oxygen donor sequentially to the aqueous medium, thereby inactivating the pathogenic microorganism in the aqueous medium.
