A label printer cassette comprising; a supply of print medium; a housing for housing said print medium. The housing having first and second surfaces and at least one side extending between said first and second surfaces. A cover is provided on one of said sides and has a first position and a second position. When the cassette is received in a label printer the cover is configured when in the first position to interact with cassette detecting means of said label printer.
