PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of controlling the directivity of light easily.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device in accordance with an embodiment includes a first lead, a light-emitting element fixed to the first lead, and a second lead electrically connected to the light-emitting element via a metal wire. The light-emitting device further includes a resin covering the first lead, the light-emitting element, and the second lead, and being transparent to light emitted from the light-emitting element. The resin has side faces perpendicular to the surface of the first lead to which the light-emitting element is fixed, and a top face facing the surface to which the light-emitting element is fixed, and the incidence angle of the light emitted from the light-emitting element on the side faces is greater than the critical angle of total reflection at the intersections of the top face and the side faces. |
