PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device which writes a prescribed voltage into a floating body during a power-on sequence control period which is implemented before starting write-in or readout of data since a defective readout of the data may be induced when there exists a memory cell having an unstable voltage in a floating body.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device includes: a bit line, a word line, a plurality of memory elements having at least first and second regions forming PN junctions with the bit line and a power source node and a third region forming the PN junction with the second region, and a control circuit activating the word lines corresponding to each of the plurality of memory elements in a prescribed period after the power source is turned on and letting the current flow between the first region and the second region corresponding to each of the plurality of memory elements, thereby initializing potentials of the second region to a prescribed level. |
